So in the past month I have officially become a mother of two. Our beautiful baby girl is no longer a baby and will be three years old come November. Our newest of kin is a wonderful little baby boy and is officially one month old as of today.
Now this last month has been anything but easy, and equally as wonderful. Which to anyone who doesn't have kids would never understand. Our newest little bundle does not often cry and sleeps a lot, which we are so grateful for. But the regressions that our girl is going through, are tough buggers to deal with. Naps have been absolutely out of question, the sass is strong with that one...The potty training has just been forgotten, and every day we are having at least one accident, simply because she "didn't want to stop playing." UGH!
Even with these tough regressions, I cannot get over how amazing she is with her baby brother. She loves him and thinks he is the most amazing little creature on the face of the planet. She is always wanting to hug and kiss and be involved in any way that she can be. I continually see and hear her interact with her baby dolls as if they were her brother, and there is so much love for this new tiny human being even while she plays.
Like I said, we are lucky enough that the boy sleeps, however...he will grunt and fuss and grunt some more, to the point which cannot possibly be listened to repeatedly, until you pick him up for snuggles. Now there is nothing wrong with lots and lots of baby snuggles, but at some point in time, you must get things accomplished as an adult with an additional human running around causing mischief.
I have tried repeatedly to like the whole baby wearing phenomenon, and I simply cannot understand how anyone gets anything done like this! Constantly having to squat down and up with an additional 10 pounds strapped to the outside is entirely different then doing this with the 10 pounds on the inside. Now we must be careful of the head, make sure not to squish toes, be careful not to drop hot or sharp objects on the child....there are way to many factors that make the baby wearing thing a lot more challenging than useful in my book. So, we try it every day...at this point, I don't even know why...and we sweat (because that kid is HOT) as we chase after the big sister, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
